ANCA is a registered charity, originally established in 1984 with a clear mission: to manage and operate the Agar Nook Community Centre for the benefit of the residents of Agar Nook and the surrounding neighborhoods.
For over three decades, our commitment to creating a strong sense of community and providing a space for local activities has remained at the heart of everything we do.
As the needs of the community evolve, so do we. On 2nd May 2017, we officially became an Incorporated Charitable Organisation, ensuring a more robust and effective structure to serve our community for years to come. As a CIO, we are governed by a constitution which outlines our rules, structure, goals, and operations.
Our community-driven charity is overseen by a dedicated team of volunteer Trustees who are elected each year at our Annual General Meetings (AGMs). These Trustees are responsible for managing the Centre and making important decisions that shape its future.

In addition to our staff, we are incredibly grateful for the volunteers who generously give their time and energy to support the Centre and its mission.

The Agar Nook Centre is operated by ANCA, though the building itself is owned by East Midlands Housing (EMH).
EMH plays a crucial role in supporting ANCA, both financially through a grant and by employing two staff members. One staff member works alongside us, 2 days a week, to help manage the building, while the other serves as the cleaner and caretaker, ensuring the Centre is well-maintained.
